The Family Genealogist and Story Keeper

My photo
College Park, Maryland, United States
My mission is to find all the descendants of Kedar Dobbs, our Revolutionary War Soldier Ancestor. My genealogy investigations have taken me from New England to Spokane, down through California and into Texas, Utah, around Kentucky and Indiana, and in my own back yard, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond, Va. I have talked to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th cousins all over the country and celebrate each and every one because we are an interesting and dynamic bunch. My place in our genealogical family is this: Rosemary Dobbs, George Whipple Dobbs, Jr., George Whipple Dobbs, Sr., Charles Dobbs, CEW Dobbs, William Drewery Dobbs, Willoughby Dobbs, Kedar Dobbs.

Gathering of 2nd Cousins in Texas

Descendents of Charles, Leslie, and Gilbert Dobbs gathered in Garland, Texas this weekend. Those represented are Rosemary Dobbs Perticari, the great-granddaughter of Charles, Juanita Dobbs Williams and Joann Dobbs Traylor, granddaughter's of Leslie, and Frances Eleanor Dobbs Marler, granddaughter of Gilbert.

This is a once in a lifetime meeting for us and a chance to share family artifacts that have survived through the generations.

Together, we have pieced together many family stories and have added more names to the family tree. We have identified and labeled many more pictures of our ancestors so that they can be identified by our descendents.

Mostly, we have enjoyed learning about the family characters and their idiosyncracies, including ours which are remarkabley alike.

I will be posting the new information that I have gathered when I return home in a few weeks.
